This policy explains how RunBySimple handles information through our website and our Shopify apps, RunBySimple: Surcharge and RunBySimple: SafeGuard. The information processed depends on which app you use.
Information we process
For both apps, we may process store identification, installation and subscription status, merchant configuration, technical diagnostics, and information you provide when contacting support. Website hosting may process request metadata such as IP addresses and browser information for delivery and security.
RunBySimple: Surcharge
Surcharge processes product and variant information, product tags, eligible cart lines, and merchant settings to calculate and display configured checkout add-ons. Shopify handles checkout and payment processing. Do not send payment-card details to our support team.
RunBySimple: SafeGuard
SafeGuard reads catalog and supported discount data, including prices, compare-at prices, unit costs, inventory, SKUs, and discount settings. It stores store identifiers, encrypted Shopify access credentials, price snapshots, scan results and errors, rule settings, and finding history to provide monitoring.
SafeGuard does not request order or customer-record access for its monitoring features. It does not modify your catalog or add storefront tracking code. Email notifications are not available in the first release. Previously saved notification preferences, if any, do not enable sending while the feature is disabled.
How information is used and shared
We use information to operate the selected app, authenticate requests, maintain settings, verify subscription access, investigate errors, provide support, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.
Shopify provides the commerce platform and app billing. Cloudflare provides website and app infrastructure, including SafeGuard processing and database storage. These providers may process information outside your country. Their own privacy terms also apply to their services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect the security of our services.
Retention and deletion
We retain information while needed to provide the service, resolve support requests, or comply with applicable obligations. SafeGuard deletes its store records, access credentials, snapshots, and findings when it processes an authenticated uninstall or shop-redaction event. Its 30-day resolved-history view is a display window, not a promise that all underlying records are automatically erased after 30 days.
Surcharge app data is deleted or anonymized following uninstall within a reasonable period unless retention is legally required. Shopify privacy requests are handled through the required compliance webhooks. Provider backups and security logs may follow separate retention cycles. Contact us for an account-specific deletion request or retention question.
Security and your choices
We use access controls and technical safeguards, including encryption of stored SafeGuard Shopify credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security. You can uninstall an app to revoke its Shopify access and contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or to raise a privacy concern. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our practices change and provide additional notice where required. For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, email support@runbysimple.com. Include the app name and store domain, but never an access token or password.
